A quick sketch of the Aussie bowler who knocked the stuffing out of England yesterday. Painted by finger using the Brushes app on my iPhone. The app has a cool feature which records all of your brush strokes and allows you to replay them as an animation - see below.

Ultra limited edition Ashes screen prints

Today I spent an extremely enjoyable day re-learning how to screen print (a noble art which I last practised back when I was at school) courtesy of Print Club's excellent beginners workshops.

Above are a few shots of the fruits of my labour – a set of my 2010-11 Ashes drawings which are now available to buy.

The A4 prints are hand drawn, hand printed, hand trimmed (with Andrew Strauss' bat breaking out of the image) and hand signed in a ridiculously small run of just 20.

The prints are a chocolate brown ink on an off-white 300gsm paper. Each print is unique, none of them are perfect but I think the flaws only add to the retro Wisden's feel that I was after.

Got, got, got, need! launch night

Thanks to everyone who attended the launch night of GGGN! earlier this month, I was really pleased with the turnout. It was great to meet some of the people who had bought portraits and put faces to emails. Above all it was a really successful evening raising loads of money for the Luton and Dunstable NICU.

Test for The Times

If you live or work in London or have read The Times lately then you may well have seen the World Cup campaign which I have illustrated, consisting of the England team painted on boiled eggs (see poster and paper below). Here's a test I did where, as well as painting on the eggs, I stuck things like paper, wool and sequins on to them.
